Welcome to my site.
Trenna and I started a new church in Kansas City in the beginning of 2020. It got off to a good start, but you may remember some things happened that year… we had to start over, and over. AKC got its real start in the fall of 2021, and God has blessed us with some great people who want to see Church be more than a place of entertainment or a place to come and go… we want to see real relationships and lives truly changed into the likeness of Jesus. We would love to have you join us. If you want a place that is pursuing both the grace and truth of Jesus… AKC is your place. www.antiochkc.org
Below is the mission and vision of Antioch Kansas City. This statement is simple, and the bullet points are how it is lived. Our vision focuses as much on who we are as what we do. Christians are called to not only impact the world—they can do so in a life-giving, refreshing manner. That is our aim.
Our Vision at Antioch Kansas City
Antioch Movement Motto – “A passion for Jesus and his purposes on Earth.”
Antioch KC seeks to be a people who Follow Jesus, Live on Mission, and Make Disciples.
Follow Jesus
- Our focus in on and our identity is in Jesus (Hebrews 12:2). We aim to conform our lives to Jesus and His words, and not conform Him to ourselves.
- We will put “first things first” by loving God and others, and worshipping Him in Spirit and Truth (Matthew 22:37-39, John 4:24).
- We seek to be a people of grace and truth (John 1:14,17).
- We love and honor the scriptures, and enjoy friendship with the Holy Spirit; which is cultivated by regular time spent in the Word and prayer (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Acts 2:42).
- Relationships are most important, and unity will be fiercely protected (Ephesians 4:1-3, 1 Peter 4:8).
- We commit to walking by faith and living by love (Galatians 5:6).
- We aim to be disciples who have quiet souls and are fully present (Psalm 131, Psalm 46:10, Luke 8:45,).
Live on Mission
- We aim to live lives “sent” by God, and proclaim with love and truth the message of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5).
- We are intentional about praying for, and reaching our Circle of Influence (friends, neighbors, co-workers, relatives).
- We are listening to God for ways to share the Gospel in our city (John 21:6)
- We faithfully pray that the Gospel will reach the ends of the Earth (Matthew 9:38, 24:14).
- We desire to reach the Nations – We are passionate about God’s heart to reach all the people on Earth with the Gospel of Jesus. Prayer, short term missions and the development of people to be sent to the nations is a major passion of Antioch Churches. We seek to partner with Jesus in His great mission to reach every nation on Earth, and we desire to create a culture of people who pray, live, give and go (Matthew 28:16-20, Matthew 24:14).
Make Disciples
- “Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19) A disciple follows Jesus, is transformed by Jesus and partners with Jesus.
- We seek to refresh others by “considering others better than ourselves” and pouring ourselves into others through service and discipleship (Philippians 2:3).
- We are part of relational communities (Life Groups) that encourage, care for and love one another towards growth as disciples. We also connect on an even deeper level with 2-3, and/or 1 on 1.
- We affirm and empower God’s design for men to be sons, servants and men of God; and for women to be daughters, servants and women of God.
- We will participate in seasons of concentrated spiritual growth (Antioch Training School).
